Laura Lancaster took an Advanced Biology class on her way to becoming a Forest Service Ranger, and like a virus, it never left her system. She is now writing a novel expanding upon what she learned about genetics and physiology.

Laura grew up in Salt Lake City. She has lived in Ely, Nevada, Logan, Utah, and Juneau, Alaska, where the novel is set. She currently lives in Fairbanks where she lives in a cabin with no running water.

  1. Howdy, Laura. Thanks for stopping by Still Life with Tortillas and liking Shapeshifter. I please to discover your blog and that you live in Fairbanks. All the best!

  2. Hi Laura,
STAP cells could possibly be used to ‘seed’ a person’s tissues and thus give us individuals corresponding to those in your novel. It looks as if they will be available easily for any individual. Thousands of small labs with smart young scientists could well become impossible for government to regulate. It’s a fascinating future to speculate about.
